Jaludo releases website for Arabic girls

The website Warda.com is one of the newest websites in the Titter concept and was launched a month ago. Warda.com is very similar to the western websites of the Titter concept but of course there are also some great differences. For example, people in the Middle-East read from right to left, instead of from left to right: this is why Jaludo had to build a mirrored version.

For this new Warda.com website, Jaludo created a special dressup game called ‘Dress up Warda‘ (Arabic: ورده الجميلة). In this game you can give a girl a beautiful make-up and a hair style that goes with it. After you have taken care of her make-up, you can find her some clothes like a beautiful hijab and a stunning dress, jewelry and shoes.

If you got curious, go to the website http://www.warda.com or go directly to the Dress Up Warda game.

A Dutch newspaper wrote an article about us, you can read it below:

We are very proud to serve our games to 25 million unique players around the world! “From my old bedroom office with 2 people 3 years ago I’d never expected this to grow so solid and fast” said Seth de Koning, CEO of Jaludo. “We brought in a lot of very skilled people to give our players a better user experience on our portals, so we can serve them better.” he continues: “Since people make all of this possible, the best way to keep growing is to engage our audience in our workflow, being it game selection, design, game development or just support them any way we can”.  Seth de Koning: “ It’s important to have a deep understanding of the online gaming market. It enables Jaludo to produce localized and targeted websites such as Titter.com (for girls), Gamesclub.com (for tweens) and Speeleiland.nl (for kids and tweenies)”

Actually, the bad economics is one of the current drivers of the continuing success of the Jaludo portals. By rightly anticipating on trends in the market Jaludo is able to gain better deals concerning traffic, game development and use the voice of the gamers. People seek more pleasure in casual gaming and the price of ‘free’ is very attractive. We, at Jaludo, understand this and we like our games to be free. Text rotation with CSS

A couple of months ago I came across an article on http://css-tricks.com/ that explained how to display dates in a cool way using sprites. More recently I came across an article that does the exact same thing, only without the use of images. Check it out: http://snook.ca/archives/html_and_css/css-text-rotation.

JavaScript MVC Article from A List Apart

Interesting article in the new A List Apart issue :

JavaScript MVC by JONATHAN SNOOK

As JavaScript takes center stage in our web applications, we need to produce ever more modular code. MVC (Model-View-Controller) may hold the key. MVC is a design pattern that breaks an application into three parts: the data (Model), the presentation of that data to the user (View), and the actions taken on any user interaction (Controller). Discover how MVC can make the JavaScript that powers your web applications more reusable and easier to maintain.
